Moto Guzzi Enthusiast Hans: The Adventure on Two Wheels and the Passion for Long Journeys

Hans, a devoted Moto Guzzi enthusiast and a loyal customer of ours, has embarked on an impressive motorcycle journey spanning decades. His two-wheeled adventures began when he was in the age range of 45-50, and since then, he can proudly say that he has owned over five Moto Guzzi motorcycles.

It's not just the impressive number of motorcycles that garners admiration, but also the countless kilometers he has covered on the roads. With over 500,000 kilometers under his belt, Hans has explored the roads of Europe, creating a treasure trove of memories and adventures along the way. Last summer, he spent four weeks on the road, traveling from Finland to Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and then back to Italy, before concluding his journey in Sweden and returning to Finland.

Hans's adventures have taken him to some of the most amazing places and provided him with memories he will carry with him for life. But for Hans, adventure isn't just about distant destinations. He follows his own motto: "No preparations needed. It should be as simple as possible." He doesn't plan his trips in advance; he lets himself be guided by the freedom of the road. He believes that pre-bookings limit the adventure and give a sense of "having" to reach a particular place. The only booking Hans has made in advance was when he traveled to Morocco to meet his travel companions.

For Hans, the right riding gear is crucial. He prefers Rukka clothing and emphasizes the importance of comfort. Despite previous back problems, he has ridden his Moto Guzzi V85 TT without experiencing discomfort. Hans appreciates the riding experience and the comfort that his motorcycle and gear provide.

Hans's motorcycle journey is a story of adventure, freedom, and a love for Moto Guzzi motorcycles that have been a central part of his life. With his latest investment, a Moto Guzzi Guardia d'Onore, Hans has proven that the adventure continues, and he's ready for new roads and adventures ahead. We are proud to be a part of Hans's journey and look forward to following his continued two-wheeled adventures.

Hans's Memorable Travels with Moto Guzzi

One of Hans's most memorable journeys took him to Belgium, where his Moto Guzzi motorcycle broke down on the highway. He stood there for a long time, waving until a Belgian driver stopped and helped him. Together, they called for a tow truck and then drove to the Belgian's home. Despite their efforts to find the problem, they couldn't locate it, and Hans even had the opportunity to borrow the Belgian man's racing motorcycle to get home.

The following day, the Belgian went to work, leaving Hans alone in the house. When he came back from work, they continued troubleshooting and discovered that a cable had melted. They spliced the wires and managed to fix the problem. What was unique about this incident was the language barrier, as Hans spoke Swedish and the Belgian man could only speak a few English words. Hans spent the night there and says the refrigerator was filled with beer - a memorable night.

Hans and the Challenging Roads

Hans's motorcycle journeys have been filled with breathtaking landscapes and exciting adventures, but at times, they have also challenged his skills on the road. One such incident occurred in Hungary during a trip with his Moto Guzzi California.

He was tempted by a road with a staggering gradient of 19% and decided to explore it. In a curve, going downhill, he lost control of his motorcycle and nearly went over the edge. The situation was urgent and potentially dangerous, but Hans displayed exceptional skills and determination. By choosing 2nd gear as the most suitable tool for the task, Hans systematically maneuvered his motorcycle out of the ditch and back onto the road. It was a frighteningly close call, but thanks to his expertise, Hans managed to escape serious injuries.

Despite these challenges, Hans continued his journey to Greece. Unfortunately, another danger would await along the way. Hans rode over an oil patch on the road, leading to a new accident. This time, he wasn't as lucky, and his motorcycle crashed. It became necessary for him to alter his plans and head back home.

Even when he was almost home, he came close to colliding with a person who suddenly stepped onto the road. But he managed to avoid the situation. Thankfully, the insurance company covered the damages his motorcycle and equipment had suffered. These events remind us that even when adventure becomes challenging, and a bad day occurs, there is always an opportunity to overcome obstacles and continue embracing the passion for motorcycles and adventures with a positive attitude.

Development and Customization of Moto Guzzi

Over the years, Hans has customized his Moto Guzzi motorcycles to meet his long-distance adventure requirements. When he was younger, the Moto Guzzi California worked well for him. However, with age came knee and hip issues, requiring a model with a more comfortable riding position to straighten his legs. Since 2020, Hans has been riding the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, a reliable and comfortable model. Now, he has decided to switch to a Moto Guzzi V85 TT D'Nore, a more modern version with a unique color that appealed to him.

Hans's story is proof that the passion for Moto Guzzi only grows stronger with the years, and the adventure on two wheels never ends. We look forward to being a part of his ongoing journey.

Hans's Longest Journey to Morocco

Hans had the honor of making one of the longest trips with his Moto Guzzi, an impressive distance of 14,500 kilometers down to Morocco. What's even more impressive is that he didn't encounter any major challenges during the trip. Everything went smoothly and trouble-free. The only obstacle he faced was in the form of different types of logbooks, leading to a minor customs disagreement at the border. His Swedish and Dutch travel companions joined him on the journey through the Atlas Mountains and various landscapes.

A memorable experience from this long journey was the night they spent in the middle of the Sahara Desert. The silence was total, only interrupted by the sparkling stars in the clearer sky. This unique experience of the desert and the silence has etched itself into Hans's memory and will stay with him for a long time.
